SPACESUITS

I’ve always thought Spacesuits were like mobile homes for space explorers. They are meticulously designed to shelter the astronaut, while providing a carefully controlled environment complete with all the systems of a house—like plumbing, climate control and ventilation. They are beautiful complex things.

These images are from one of my favorite books, Spacesuits, an illustrated history of these mini-protective space vehicles. It’s full of deliciously detailed images and painstaking descriptions of suits, gloves, boots, and helmets.
